The Future Of Web Video – Why You should Have An On-Line TV Channel

Justhands-on.tv website

With video on the web becoming an everyday occurrence a lot of companies are now creating their own on-line TV channels.

This isn’t just a way of showcasing their latest video, it's actually an information portal in its own right, offering information, hints and tips, entertainment, shareholder news and anything else of interest to the specific viewers it's aimed at.

In fact it's just like traditional broadcast TV except the user chooses what to watch and when to watch it, not the channel controller.

Here at BizView.tv we've been involved in the creation of an on-line TV channel since May 2009, when we became the content provider and video host for www.Justhands-on.tv, a TV channel aimed at quilters and patchwork artists.

We have produced over a hundred programmes for them now (examples here), and at least two new videos are loaded up every week to cater for the growing subscriber list.

If you want to talk about how we could create an on-line TV channel for your company, please get in touch to find out about the future of web video.

If You Need One, Here's Another Reason To Use Web Video

Search
Thanks to our good friend Clare Flanagan at YakZapWoo Marketing for passing the following statistic on to us.

Make of it what you will...

"A Forrester study found that video has an 11,000-to-1 chance of making it onto the first page of Google search results.

Text, by comparison, has about a 500,000-to-1 chance of appearing on the first page of results.

Here's what it means: on the keywords for which Google offers video results, any given video stands about a 50 times better chance of appearing on the first page of results than any given text page that Google has indexed."

BizView Read The Shipping Forecast

Shipping Forecast The Shipping Forecast

Watch the video
It's a dream come true for BizView director Dave Harries, he got to read the shipping forecast!

Well not on Radio 4, sadly, but for another video we recently completed for on-line TV channel www.Justhands-on.tv.

The film took a look at an extraordinary quilt that documented the sea areas around the UK as described in shipping forecasts issued by the Met Office and read out on the BBC.

We recorded a complete forecast and used it as the background "Music" for the film along with a few seagulls and waves.

The effect is quite mesmeric and has delighted our clients and their viewers.

BizView.tv And The NHS

NHS

We’ve been privileged over the last year or so to have worked increasingly with clients from different parts of the NHS.

We’ve just completed a major DVD training resource for the NHS in Swindon including all the design and printing of the accompanying literature (see picture).

We’ve also produced a second series of 4 films for the PCT in Milton Keynes which are now viewable on-line and are just finishing a project for the NHS in Bristol.

Looking forward we have just won a contract for 2 more NHS training videos in Wiltshire and are tendering for several other NHS related projects around the region.

Subtitles – Now You Can Read Video Too

Subtitles Subtitled video for
NHS Milton Keynes

Watch the video
Whilst doing all this work for the NHS it became clear that subtitles for the hard of hearing would be a requirement.

This has enabled us to test our subtitling software and see how well the technology works.

As a result we can now offer this service to all our clients whether it be for hard of hearing viewers, playback in quiet environments or for foreign language versions.

As well as subtitling our own productions we can subtitle existing films as well, so get in touch if you think this could be useful for your video.

You can see some of our subtitled work here.

Sponsorship FM – BizView Support Corinium Radio

BizView.tv are delighted to have sponsored Cirencester based radio station Corinium Radio during their most recent broadcast at the beginning of July.

BizView.tv director Dave Harries (an ex BBC radio producer himself) was also asked to present a show for the station.

He used the opportunity to interview Jeremy Marchant of Emotional Intelligence at Work and in return Jeremy got to choose all the music (and a very eclectic mix it was too!).

Bizview filmed the show for posterity so you can watch and/or listen right here.

Have you ever met a cooler sloth?

There's plenty of time to take it easy when you're being so well looked after at the Aviaros del Caribe Sloth Sanctuary in Costa Rica - the world's only sloth orphanage.

Not only are they calm and laid-back, but sweet and helpless too. This video has been set to music for a delightful diversion to your day.

This next video won Best Music Video Award at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2009.

It's very clever and very complicated requiring a lot of planning and co-ordination.

It's shot by a Japanese band called Sour for their track 'Hibi no Neiro' (Tone of everyday).

The cast were selected from the actual Sour fan base around the world and each person was filmed purely via webcam.
