Dave’s View – Why the Interview?
Dave Harries |
|
Here at BizView.tv we passionately believe in the broadcast style interview as the best way for our customers to communicate their proposition in person.
Why? Well for two main reasons
1. It’s easier for the interviewee. The alternative is to present directly to camera either with or without a prepared script. Either way, the result is usually wooden and unwatchable unless you are a confident and trained TV presenter. It’s a case of "do not try this at home" – it hardly ever works. The interview on the other hand is relaxed and natural looking and, if the interviewer is professional and experienced, the person in front of the camera should feel relaxed and calm by the time the camera is turned on.
2. It’s much easier for the viewer. We see interviews on the TV every night and we are comfortable and understand the format. Being unscripted and natural looking, it is much more believable, objective and authoritative for the viewer. In a word – credibility.

Business guru and star of the BBC's Dragons Den was the guest speaker at the recent launch event of Swindon Based Charity Inner Flame.
The charity takes young teenagers, often from difficult backgrounds and trains them in leadership and team building skills on motivational residential courses.
BizView.tv have lent a hand by offering their services to the charity for free.
We went along to the launch party and managed to grab a video interview with Ms Elnaugh about the Inner Flame cause (watch) and the problems of being an Entrepreneur in a recession (watch)

Innovation in the Health Service
Practice Nurse Manjit Basi
with a patient at Whaddon House Surgery, Milton Keynes
Watch the videos |

For anyone interested in how GPs surgeries are innovating to better serve their patients we have just completed 4 fascinating mini documentaries for Milton Keynes PCT.
The four separate videos each tell the story of a specific problem identified by local surgeries and how those problems were innovatively and successfully tackled.
The issues ranged from language problems caused by the high numbers of recent immigrants in Milton Keynes, through a successful collaboration with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau to tackle psychological illness and stress amongst patients, a scheme to empower patients through information and a project to help early stage sufferers of COPD to slow down the progression of the disease.

Scanning in 3D – our favourite bit of kit
The Z Scanner
from Z Corporation

We recently discovered a really cool device when we made a short video for our client Cadventure Ltd to accompany an earlier film about their amazing 3D printer.
The ZCorp 3D Scanner is a simple hand held device that you more or less waive over an object (we used an old leather boot in our film) and it captures and renders it in amazing 3D detail on your computer screen.
Sounds strange doesn’t it?
Well watch the video and you’ll see why we think it’s so cool.

Paul Dunn, Director and co-founder of BizView.tv has just been appointed as President of the Wootton Bassett Chamber of Commerce.
Paul has been on the Chamber’s committee for a number of months and was asked if he’d accept the role of President when the current President, Jonathan Loader, stepped down as his term of office came to an end.
"This is a great opportunity to put something back into the business community of Wootton Bassett" said Paul "at a time when many companies are finding it hard to ride out the current down turn, I really hope my contribution can help make a difference."

Competition! – Win an overnight stay for 2 in rural Oxfordshire

Proprietor, The Talbot Inn

We recently had the inestimable pleasure of filming at a very nice pub near Eynsham in Oxfordshire that offers first class food and luxury accommodation.
The Talbot Inn is a fine establishment where we spent many happy hours and had quite a job persuading our cameraman to leave.
To make things even better they offered to give away a fabulous prize to a lucky reader of this newsletter, consisting of an evening meal, a Sunday night’s accommodation and a full English breakfast for 2 people.
All you have to do is watch the video on the Talbot home page www.talbot-oxford.co.uk and answer this simple question:
What’s the name of the "Mild" real ale being served at The Talbot when we shot the video?
Send your answer to talbot@bizview.tv with your full contact details.
The closing date for your answers is August 31st.
The winner will be drawn from a hat of all the right answers.
If you win you’ll need to use the prize by the end November 2009.
Good Luck!

Laughter is the best medicine. It helps you burn calories too.
I'm a big fan myself and today I have for you something unbelievably funny and guaranteed to split your sides - so be careful!
By the look of it, what happened here was pure chance. A gentleman, picked at random from the audience suddenly becomes the star of the show.
Brilliant!
Incredibly, this has been chuckled at an amazing 17.5 million times.
Watch the Dad at Comedy Barn video.
Now, just in case you're already one of those 17.5 million I've selected another video.
It's only been online since 19 July 2009 but already it's been viewed a staggering 12 million times.
Watch the JK Wedding Entrance Dance video.
