Dave’s View – YouTube gets a quality uplift
Dave Harries |
|
Some of you may have noticed that YouTube now has a new option under some of its videos “watch in high quality”.
Now, unfortunately this doesn’t cleverly edit the content to make it more interesting or funnier (that would be very good) but it does allow you to watch the video in something like its original quality.
As someone who has long complained about the low technical quality of YouTube content this is a welcome development for me.
Despite this quality uplift I would still avoid embedding YouTube content on your business site as that logo still screams amateur and home made – which can easily damage your hard earned brand identity.

Got an Empty Commercial Property? – Beware the Tax Man
David Flood
Rateable Value.co.uk
Watch the video |

We've just completed the first part of a very interesting project for a North Wales based company called Rateable Value.co.uk.
They are commercial property experts who’ve found a brilliantly simple and totally legal way of aleviating the very unwelcome effects of the empty commercial property business rates, which are now charged at 100%, even if the property is not earning you a penny in rent.
If you have an empty commercial property you really should view this film – it could save you a great deal of money.

Profile Video Goes on Location
Scentiments Flower Shop

Following the success of the new BizView Profile videos, where clients come to a local venue to be filmed, we have just introduced our On-Site Profile product.
This is aimed at retailers and other businesses for whom location is a key part of their proposition.
By going to them we can film the interview in the shop or premises and easily illustrate the importance of the location and shop contents to potential customers.
We are continuing to roll out Profile filming dates so if you want to see if there’s one happening near you or even suggest a local venue to us, please get in touch.

Chuffed to Bits – BizView.tv Climbs aboard at Steam
Pete Waterman
at the Steam Museum, Swindon
Watch the video |

One of the video’s we recently completed was a brand new film made at Swindon’s world class GWR museum, Steam.
The new video has excited a lot of interest amongst steam enthusiasts, not only for its quality and professionalism (of course) but also because it features an interview contribution from celebrity train nut, Pete Waterman.
If you like steam trains, check out the film of this fabulous time capsule.

BizView.tv Wins its first Award

We were delighted to be the recipients of the Wootton Bassett New Business of the Year award last month and also to be runners up in the N. Wilts New Business Competition.
It’s great to be recognised for our innovation and enthusiasm and the free publicity also came in very handy.

Ooh Arr – BizView gets all mucky down on the farm
Nev Leaning
The Farm
Watch the video |
|
Back in the Autumn we had a great day out at Chordiem’s brand new events venue “The Farm” just outside Swindon.
Director Nev Leaning asked us to come along and film an open day and capture all the action as visitors rode quad bikes, shot bows and arrows, fought each other on Gladiator bars, sumo wrestled and drove an extraordianary vehicle known as a Power Turn (you have to try it – brilliant fun!).
The result was a great film demonstrating all that The Farm has to offer as a brilliant corporate and educational venue.

Paul's View – A favourite video from the web
Extra Terrien
Pixar

I've got a real gem here for you.
It's a wonderful short film from Pixar, those masters of computer animation. If you've seen films like Toy Story and Monsters Inc you'll know what to expect.
The overconfident alien star of this film is an apprentice inter-galactic traveller. He's trying to control a spaceship under the watchful eye of an instructor. But it looks like he's going to fail the test.
It's great fun and great entertainment for this festive time of year.
And don't forget, if your broadband can handle it, make sure you click the link to watch in High Quality.

Cheers!
We had to dress up in our best togs when we went to Bowood for the final of the North Wilts New Business of the Year Award.
We were very grateful for the support we received from our friends at the Wootton Bassett Chamber of Commerce.
Click here to enlarge the photo and see us all enjoying a glass of wine.
To them, and to all of you, we wish you...
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
